KUCHING, Nov 5: A total of 32,269 hectares or 80,972 acres of land involving five areas in Ngemah constituency and 7,337 hectares or 18,130 acres in five areas in Machan constituency have had their perimeters surveyed and gazetted as Bumiputera Communal Reserves (agriculture) under Section 6 of the State Land Code.

Assistant Minister of Urban Development and Resources, Datu Len Talif Salleh added that the claimants of land must also show their willingness to survey the individual lot for the issuing of the land title under Section 18 of the State Land Code.

He also said that the claimants must send their official application letter to the Land and Survey Department in Sibu.

Len revealed this in response to questions on whether the government will conduct Section 18 perimeter surveys and on how much native customary rights (NCR) land has been surveyed and gazetted. The questions were raised by Ngemah assemblyman Alexander Vincent and Machan assemblyman Allan Siden Gramong respectively at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today. — DayakDaily
