KUCHING, April 5: A total of 39 families living in KMC Flats received contributions from Kuching South City Council (MBKS) in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

The contribution is part of the MBKS Caring Community Programme initiative to provide essential support to ensure those families can celebrate the joyous occasion.

Speaking to reporters after presenting the contribution, MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said that in a society, caring about each other is a chain reaction where everyone needs to play their role.

He said regardless of whether the action is big or small, it is the thought that counts.

“As such, we want everyone to feel that we will take care of everyone in the MBKS area. We will try our best. So let us continue to preserve this unity and harmony that exist among us,” he said.

Wee also thanked the sponsors, Kuching Love Book Association and 38 Yayasan Amal Cinta, for helping MBKS to conduct such programmes.

He also hoped that the sponsorship would continue and benefit those in need.

The contributions, consisting of essential items, were presented to the recipients during a simple ceremony at the MBKS community library in Jalan Ban Hock. — DayakDaily
