KUCHING, Aug 8: Some 34 locals and two foreigners were compounded after failing to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) set by the government here on Friday night.
According to Kuching District Police chief ACP Awang Din Awang Gani, among the 36 people who were compounded, two female foreigners were arrested as well at one of the entertainment centres located at Jalan Petanak.
“A total of four premises failed to present their IR temperature guns, customers detail notebook and sanitiser,” Awang Din said.
“Two of the premises were located at Jalan Petanak while another two premises located at Jalan Lorong Sungai Maong and Jalan Main Bazaar Kuching,” he added.
Awang Din said a total of 20 people who were loitering at the Kuching Waterfront were arrested for not social distancing themselves among each other.
“Decisive actions will be taken towards the premise operators if they failed to prepare the items such as temperature gun and others.
“Police will continue to monitor and check the premises to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Operators of premises will also be charged if they failed to adhere to the SOP,” Awang Din noted.-DayakDaily
