SIBU, March 5: A tragic car accident on Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Sibu, this morning claimed the life of a 35-year-old father of three, Joseph Tuah Lawrence, who died on the spot.
The incident occurred when the four-wheel drive (4WD) driven by Joseph skidded and collided with a tree on the roadside.
Joseph’s children, two girls and a boy, aged 12, 8 and 4 respectively, sustained injuries and are currently being treated at Sibu Hospital.
Trapped inside the vehicle, the children had to be freed by members of the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) using hydraulic rescue tools.
Additionally, a female victim was ejected from the 4WD during the accident and was subsequently transported to the hospital by ambulance. — DayakDaily
