KOTA SAMARAHAN, May 10: A 32-year-old man from Kampung Quap was killed early this morning after the motorcycle he was riding skidded and crashed into a metal guardrail at Kilometre 13, Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa.
In a TVS news report, Kota Samarahan District Police chief, Superintendent Damataries Lautin, said the incident occurred at around 2.55am while the victim was riding from the direction of Petronas Samarindah towards Kampung Quap.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the motorcycle lost control while travelling along a straight stretch of road, veered to the right, and crashed into the roadside guardrail,” he said in a statement today.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 3.03am by medical personnel.
His body was taken to the Forensic Unit of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further examination, while the heavily damaged motorcycle was sent to the Kota Samarahan Traffic Police Station for forensic inspection.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
