LUBOK ANTU, Oct 9: Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Salcra) will be sending its team of 300 surveyors to the respective regions and estates soon to start Section 18 surveying work on Native Customary Rights (NCR) land scheme in the plantations.

Salcra chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas revealed that its personnel had just completed their training as surveyors through the Land and Survey Department.

“Survey will be done on Section 18 before Section 6 for the issuance of land titles.

“I hope when owners eventually have the individual titles, their land will not change hands immediately,” he advised when officiating at a community policing programme at Rh Meritian Melintang in Merindun, here today.

On Covid-19 pandemic, the Deputy Chief Minister urged all community leaders to do their part in protecting their ‘anak biaks’ (charges).

“Make sure they follow the standard operation procedures (SOP) properly and not to allow any foreigners to enter their longhouses.

“The Covid-19 is a very dangerous and contagious sickness but it is also preventable,” he emphasised.

At the function, Uggah, who is also Minister of Agriculture Modernisation, Native Land and Regional Development, also presented appointment letters to local community leaders and secretaries of the Village Security and Development Committees (JKKKs).
