3 compounded for leaving Covid-19 quarantine centre prematurely

KUCHING, June 30: Three individuals were compounded by the police for leaving their respective Covid-19 quarantine centres without permission.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said the trio were among 33 individuals who flouted the standard operating procedures (SOP) during Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

The police have issued a total of 19 compounds in Kuching, Bintulu (4), Miri (3), Sibu (3), Kota Samarahan (2) and Lawas (2) in the last 24 hours for various offenses such as loitering in public places after 12 midnight without valid reasons, not wearing face mask, not socially distancing, failing to scan the MySejahtera app or manually writing their details when entering premises and companies failure to ensure only 30 per cent workforce capacity.


To date, the police have issued a total of 8,522 SOP violation compounds since March 18, 2020.

The Ministry of Local Government and Housing have issued four compounds consisting of three by Kota Samarahan District Office and one by Bintulu Development Authority for premises failing to update their check-in registration log book.

Since Feb 1 this year, the Ministry has issued a total of 1,194 SOP violation compounds. — DayakDaily
