3 Bruneians among 5 collared for allegedly playing `holo’

MIRI, April 19: Five men, three of them Bruneians and the rest locals, have been remanded for three days beginning today to facilitate investigation into an illegal gambling case.

They were nabbed by Miri CID personnel who spotted them playing the game of `holo’ at the five-foot way of a shop in Sungei Tujuh at about 9.20pm yesterday. The shop is located not far from the immigration checkpoint in Kuala Baram


Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said, “During the raid, police confiscated cash amounting to RM1,057 and gambling apparatus.”

The suspects, aged between 41 and 51, were brought to the Magistrate’s Court this morning, and they would be produced in court again on April 22 when their remand expires. — DayakDaily
