SRI AMAN, March 20: A devastating road accident near Kampung Selepong Jinggau along the Serian-Sri Aman Road left three people dead and five others, including children, injured early this morning.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sri Aman responded to the emergency at 8.30am and immediately mobilised a team of firefighters led by PBK I Edwin Jonani to the scene.
Upon arrival, the firefighters confirmed that the collision involved two vehicles, a Proton X70 and a Perodua Alza.

The Perodua Alza was completely engulfed in flames, but all three of its occupants, including a woman in her 20s and two young boys aged 4 and 6, survived with minor injuries.
In the Proton X70, the situation was far more tragic. Of the five passengers, three adults, including a man aged 70 and two women aged 22 (including one with disabilities), were found unconscious and later pronounced dead at the scene by medical teams.
Two young boys, aged 4 and 6, survived but suffered head injuries and were rushed to Sri Aman Hospital via Bomba’s EMRS unit.

No victims were reported trapped in either vehicle. Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze using a single initial attack hose stream and later carried out site cleanup.
The deceased were handed over to police for further investigation.
The operations concluded at 10am after the scene was confirmed safe. — DayakDaily
