2nd suspect in suspected sexual slavery of 10yo girl case remanded until Oct 10

KUCHING, Oct 6: A second suspect in the case of a father who had allegedly pimped out his 10-year-old daughter as a sex slave will be further remanded for another five days until Oct 10 for further investigation.

The second suspect was arrested on Sept 29 and was remanded for seven days. The first remand application expired today.


Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi today allowed the police to further remand the second suspect for another five days until Oct 10 to assist the ongoing police investigation.

The first suspect, 45, who is the victim’s father, was arrested on Sept 27 and is still under remand until Oct 10.

The third suspect, 45, who was allegedly involved in this case, was arrested on Oct 2 and released on Oct 3.

The fourth suspect, 63, was arrested on Oct 4 and remanded from Oct 5 to 11.

The incident came to light after the girl told her school teacher about the incident, who subsequently lodged a police report.

The victim alleged that she had been sent to an ‘uncle’ numerous times by her father in exchange for money.

The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(b) of the Child Act 2001 and Section 376 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
