According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) yesterday (Aug 14), the grants were handed over by Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department Dato Gerawat Jala to the recipients to purchase items for longhouses, build a multi-purpose house and many more.

“Each allocation given is in accordance with the application from the residents and the grants should be use for developing and providing facilities to longhouse residents,” he said during the handing over ceremony at Marudi District Office on Saturday (Aug 13).

Meanwhile, at the same ceremony, Gerawat also received 136 new Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) membership application forms for the PBB Mulu Branch from Councilor Yanti Nyanggau.

Gerawat said PBB is always open to accepting new members at any time.
