
BELAGA, Nov 20: A total of 28 individuals were detained and two locations believed to be drug distribution dens were destroyed in a joint operation led by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) Sarawak around Sungai Asap on Nov 18 and 19.
According to AADK Sarawak, the Special Prevention Operation was carried out with the cooperation of the Kapit Division Malaysian Immigration Department, resulting in the arrest of 22 men, three women and three Indonesian nationals.

Community leaders assisted authorities in demolishing the two premises suspected of being used as drug distribution hotspots.
In a media release issued on Wednesday (Nov 19), AADK Sarawak added that its Treatment and Rehabilitation Branch also conducted home visit activities involving four longhouses, aimed at monitoring clients’ progress and strengthening family support throughout the rehabilitation process.

In a separate programme, more than 200 residents gathered for a Community Engagement Programme held at Kulit longhouse’s hall, which was officiated by Belaga District Officer Bidah Lujah and attended by AADK Sarawak director Abdul Hamediee Ibrahim.
The event featured dialogue sessions, information sharing and cultural performances.
