KUCHING, March 31: Twenty-seven students from St Joseph’s Private Secondary School (SJPSS) achieved straight As in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2025 examination, demonstrating the strength and dedication of the cohort.
The announcement today brought excitement and pride as graduates returned to collect their results.
According to a statement, a total of 181 students sat for the SPM in November and December 2025, and the school’s overall performance was highly encouraging.
Three students earned straight A+ in all subjects, with two scoring 11 A+ and one scoring 10 A+.
Another two students achieved 9 A+ along with one or two additional As. In total, 27 students secured straight As, while 67 students achieved at least a B in all subjects.
Principal Yong Ing Thung was present in school to meet the graduates who came to collect their results.
Commenting on the results, he said SJPSS students’ achievements reflect not only their effort and talent but also the unwavering support and guidance of its teachers.
“Success like this is never the work of individuals alone. It comes from the shared effots, where teachers, support staff, and administrators each play a vital role in shaping an environment that allows every student to grow and excel,” he said.
Top scorer Chua Poh Hui expressed gratitude to her teachers, parents, friends, and the school, adding, “I encourage everyone to continue working hard as this is just the beginning of a wonderful new journey.”
Rector Rev Fr Stanley Goh praised the students’ holistic development, noting, “Watching our students grow over the years has been a privilege. Their achievements are a testament to our focus on intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth. I hope they carry the spark of inspiration and learning from St Joseph’s into all their future endeavours.” — DayakDaily
