BAU, June 3: A 26-year-old man was killed, while four others sustained minor injuries in a three-vehicle collision at the P-turn near Kampung Jugan along Jalan Pan Borneo Bau-Lundu last night (June 2).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Bau, which received the emergency call at 9.09pm, confirmed that the accident involved a Toyota Hilux, a Nissan Navara, and a Kia Forte.
The deceased was identified as the driver of the Kia Forte.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and swiftly used rescue tools to extricate the man, who was pinned inside his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health paramedics. His remains were later handed over to the police for further action.
Meanwhile, two women and a young girl who were travelling in the Toyota Hilux sustained minor injuries and were taken to Bau Hospital by ambulance. The 48-year-old driver escaped unhurt.
The male driver of the Nissan Navara also suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by members of the public.
The operation concluded at approximately 10.45pm after firefighters cleared the debris and ensured the site was safe. — DayakDaily
