SeDidik to set up six more early education and childcare centres next year

SIBU, Dec 3: SeDidik will set up six more early education and childcare centres next year, says its General Manager Ayub Dahari.

According to him, this year SeDidik is operating in 100 locations whereby 80 of these centres are kindergartens while the other 20 are nurseries located throughout Sarawak, from Lundu to Lawas.

“Insya-Allah in 2024, SeDidik will have 106 additional centres in several new places and one of them is in the Sibu Zone which is Tadika Rumah Seliau, Ulu Oya.


“Here we can see the great role of SeDidik in helping the Sarawak government provide opportunities and access to early education and childcare no matter where they are,” he said.

He said this in the text of his speech which was read out by SeDidik Sdn Bhd Corporate Services Senior Manager Siti Rodziah Bunsu Drahman as his representative at the 32nd Sibu Zone SeDidik Convention herr today.

The ceremony was officiated at by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) Officer Ahmat Adai who represented Sarawak’s Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Taliff Salleh.

As a representative of SeDidik employees, Ayub expressed his appreciation to the Sarawak government, particularly the Ministry of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development (KPWK) for their trust in expanding access to early education and childcare and also empowering SeDidik’s human resources to always be competitive and optimistic.

He also said the various grants received from KPWK are fully used to ensure that SeDidik operates smoothly and effectively.

“These grants are to help us improve the quality and quality of SeDidik services in our centres to always give the best to parents and the community,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Ayub said, recently during the Sarawak Preschool International Convention 2023 which was held in Kuching on November 18–19,the 2023 Quality Nursery Award was won by SeDidik Kampung Tunku Abdul Rahman Nursery, Miri.

“This year, we received praise through benchmark visits from various parties, including childcare and early education institutions not only from within the country but also from abroad such as the delegations from PCF Sparkletots (Singapore), Employers’ Organisation of Private Education Institutions Seberang Perai Utara, Pulau Pinang and Singapore Preschool Association and so on,” he added. — DayakDaily
