MIRI, Oct 4: The iconic Grand Old Lady atop Canada Hill here will be temporarily closed to the public from Oct 9 to 11.
In a notice, Miri City Council (MCC) disclosed that the access road leading up to the Grand Old Lady and its surrounding area will also be closed to facilitate an upcoming State event.
The closure is to make way for necessary preparations and implementation of the event.
MCC apologised to the public for any inconvenience this closure may cause.
It also greatly appreciates the public’s understanding and support as the Council works to enhance this historical landmark.
The Grand Old Lady will resume its regular operating hours and be reopened to the public on Oct 12. — DayakDaily
