BAU, Aug 27: Police have arrested a 23-year-old agent allegedly selling illegal lottery numbers yesterday.
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon in a statement said acting on a tip-off, a team of police carried out the operations at the five-foot way of a stationary shop in Bau bazaar at 12 noon.
“Police also seized a mobile phone, a piece of paper with lottery numbers and some cash. The suspect, from Kota Samarahan has no previous criminal records,” Poge disclosed.
The suspect was brought to Bau IPD for further investigation and actions.
The case is being investigated under Section 4(A)(a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.—DayakDaily
