KUCHING, May 19: A 22-year-old motorcyclist succumbed to injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Manju in Kanowit.

According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received a call regarding the incident at 8.28pm yesterday (May 18) and deployed Bomba Kanowit to the location.

The operations commander reported that the incident involved a high-powered motorcycle colliding with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).

Firefighters then utilised a stretcher to move the victim, Ellysus Wong, for treatment by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH) waiting nearby, who later pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The deceased’s body was later handed over to the police for further action, and after ensuring that the situation was under control, firefighters ended the operation at 9.40pm. — DayakDaily
