MIRI, June 2: A 22-year-old male driver was killed after the impact of a crash flung him out from his car and he was pinned beneath the vehicle at Ancarang Sekaloh junction along the Bintulu-Miri stretch of the Pan Borneo Highway today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to the emergency at 10.41am and swiftly despatched a team of firefighters from the Batu Niah Station to the scene.
In the single-vehicle accident, the victim was reported to be heading towards Miri from Bintulu when his vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a ditch.
Firefighters discovered the victim pinned beneath the rear of the Proton Sage vehicle upon arrival and promptly took necessary actions to retrieve the victim.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Ministry of Health (MOH). His body was subsequently handed over to the police for further procedures.
The operation concluded after firefighters ensured the safety of the site. — DayakDaily
