KUCHING, Mar 15: A 21-year-old man who was reported missing after his boat capsized while travelling from Rumah Bunsi, Kampung Atas Kubu, Jalan Sri Baleh, in Kapit, was found dead today.
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the body of Brando Jawi Mamba was found by members of the public near the wharf terminal to Belaga in front of Kapit Town Square at 7.06am.
Based on the chronology of events, on Friday (Mar 13) at around 9pm at Batang Rajang, the victim was travelling with four friends when their boat capsized after being struck by strong waves.
The friends managed to save themselves, but the victim was nowhere to be seen.
A search was carried out, but they could not locate the victim, prompting them to lodge a police report. — DayakDaily
