21 compounds for SOP violations including illegal cockfighting issued by authorities

KUCHING, May 16: Individuals participating in illegal cockfighting activities were among those compounded by the Royal Malaysia Police for violating SOPs.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, the police issued a total of 21 compounds for standard operating procedure (SOP) violations in five districts namely Serian (10), Kuching (4), Mukah (3), Bintulu (3) and Padawan (1), bringing the total numbers of compounds issued since March 18, 2021 until today to 6,545 compounds.

Other offenses for which compounds have been issued include failure to practise physical distancing (4), failure to wear facemask (3), going out without reasonable cause after 10pm (2), violating additional SOP in Bintulu Zone (fishing) (1) and not updating customer registration book (1).

On the same note, SDMC disclosed that a total of 20 compounds were also issued by various local government authorities throughout the state under the Ministry of Local Government and Housing.

The compounds were issued for offenses such as operating beyond the time limit (6), not updating registration book or incomplete details (4), failure to wear facemask (3), allowing customer to dine-in (2), not registering with MySejahtera or registration book (2), not taking body temperature (1), body temperature scanner malfunction (1) and operating without permit (1).
