BINTULU, Oct 23: A 20-year-old security guard was killed in a motorcycle collision with a bus this morning along Jalan Simpang Empat in the Samalaju industrial area.
In a news report by TVS, Bintulu District police chief Superintendent Nixon Joshua Ali reported that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Bintulu Hospital, following injuries sustained in the 6.40am accident.
“The incident occurred when an express bus, transporting approximately 20 factory workers, was en route from Jalan Saberkas Bintulu to a factory in Samalaju.
“As the bus reached the intersection near MDS Supermarket, Samalaju, it collided with a motorcycle coming from the right, travelling from the Eco Park Samalaju quarters towards the factory,” he said in a statement today.
Nixon confirmed that neither the bus driver nor the passengers were injured.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Nixon urged the public not to engage in speculation or spread false information, which could create unnecessary anxiety.
