207 individuals receive Qurban contribution in conjunction with Aidiladha celebration

KUCHING, June 29: A total of 207 individuals in Kuching received Qurban contributions in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration today.

Presented by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, 40 contributions were handed over to the recipients at Dewan Hikmah in Masjid Jamek during the Qurban Perdana ceremony.

Another 150 were distributed to those present at the ceremony, while 57 were presented to the less fortunate individuals in Astana and Sungai Laruh area.

Three cows were slaughtered during the ceremony which was organised by Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS).

Also present were Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Office Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali and other distinguished guests. — DayakDaily
