BAU, Sept 9: A total of 54 schools, both secondary and primary, Kemas kindergartens and Community-based Rehabilitation Centre (PDK) in Tasik Biru constituency received face masks today.

The recipients are three secondary schools, primary schools (23), Kemas Kindergartens (23), PDK (4) and Bau district Education office (1).

The handing over of the items totalling 20,000 was graced by Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep held at Bau civic centre, to the representatives of the recipients.

Henry said the handing over of the face masks was to help lessen the burden of the people to buy the items, which was among the initiatives of the state government under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

“The state government under GPS has come up with several initiatives to help the people during this Covid-19 pandemic, and the handing over of face masks is among them.

” So it is necessary that the people continue supporting GPS government, which is taking care of the people,” he said.

Henry hoped that the people will continue to support the policy and initiatives of both of the Federal and State governments to tackle Covid-19 pandemic.

He said complying to the SOP and the new normal set up by the government was one very important factor.

“Although the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) is until Dec 31 this year, we do bit know what is next, so it is very crucial that we adhere to the SOP and the new normal set by the government,” Henry asserted.
