KUCHING, July 17: Two men were slapped with a RM3,500 fine each, in default to four months’ imprisonment for snatch theft at 101 Commercial Centre here, last month.
Tazzul Nazlan, 22, from Kpg Siol Kandis and Azwan Mohamad Buang, 31, from Taman Sukma, pleaded guilty before a Magistrate’s Court to robbing a woman of her handbag in front of an eatery at Jalan Tun Jugah, at about 5.50pm on June 25.
The CCTV footage of the scene had gone viral after the incident.
Magistrate Nuruhuda Mohd Yusof accepted their guilty pleas and convicted the duo as charged.
They were convicted under Section 379 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
