2 Indonesian workers dead after fire at plantation quarters near Kg Telong, Batu Niah

KUCHING, Oct 19: Two Indonesian workers died after a fire broke out in plantation quarters near Kampung Telong in Batu Niah, Miri.

According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received the call regarding the incident at 5.55am and firefighters from Bomba Batu Niah were deployed to the location.

The operation commander reported that a container cabin was 20 per cent destroyed by the blaze. The bodies of the two victims were found inside.


The remains were later handed over to the police forensics unit for further action. — DayakDaily
