[UPDATED] 2 Indonesian detainees escape from Tapah Police Station today

PADAWAN, June 12: Two Indonesian detainees escaped the Tapah Police Station around 1pm today.

This was confirmed by a reliable source via WhatsApp earlier.

Meanwhile, Sarawak Commissioner of Police Dato Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri, in a statement recently, said the two suspects are identified as Kelvin, 21, and Bony, 31.

Both of them were from Jawa Timur, Indonesia.

“Both suspects are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act after being detained by the Kota Sentosa police team on June 7 and placed in Tapah Police Station lock-up for further investigation.

“The police are currently locating the suspects, and all elements of the force have been mobilised for an Ops Tutup (roadblock) operation in Padawan district,” he said.
