Around 3pm, the victim told his father that he wanted to descend earlier so he could play futsal.

“When the father returned home around 6pm, his wife informed him that their son has not returned since morning.

“The father then lodged a police report this morning out of fear for his son’s safety,” the Bomba reported.

In a later report, Bomba disclosed that the victim was sent home by villagers from Kampung Sungan which is located near Kampung Sejijak.

“According to the victim, on the day of the incident (yesterday), he fell on his way down the mountain and passed out.

“When he regained consciousness, it was already dark and he could not find the trail home.

“Not long after that, he found a small river and followed the trail until he reached Kampung Sungan which is 5km away.

“He then sought the villagers’ help to send him back to his home around 10.15am this morning,” the report added.

The victim was given early emergency aid by Bomba’s Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team at the scene before he was sent to Tebedu Clinic for further examination. — DayakDaily
