19 out of 40 districts in Sarawak register zero Covid-19 cases today, one active cluster left

KUCHING, April 16: Over half of the districts in Sarawak recorded zero new Covid-19 cases today, leaving only 19 out of 40 districts with new infections.

According to a statement by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today, Kuching ranked first and registered only 35 out of 121 cases, which is a huge improvement from previous days.


Those recording double-digit case numbers were Miri (19), Bintulu (18), Limbang (13), and Sibu (11).

Other districts with new infections included Samarahan (5), Serian (4), Simunjan, Daro, Kanowit, Selangau (2 each), Dalat, Sarikei, Lubok Antu, Asajaya, Mukah, Pusa, Subis, and Pakan (1 each).

In terms of clinical categories, there were 53 in Category 1, 62 in Category 2, one in Category 3, three in Category 4, and two in Category 5.

Meanwhile, the Jalan Bukit Mata and Jalan Padungan Clusters expired, leaving only one still active in Sarawak.
