KUCHING, Nov 19: A 17-year-old boy was killed in the early hours today after losing control of his motorcycle on the Miri Bypass flyover.

Miri District Police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said police received a report of the fatal crash at around 5.30am.

Initial investigations indicate that the teenager was riding from Taman Tunku towards SMK Bandar Baru Miri when he lost control of his motorcycle, veering to the right and colliding with the road divider.

“The rider was pronounced dead at the scene,” he confirmed in a statement today.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
