1,718,610 Sarawakians are fully vaccinated as of Aug 21

KUCHING, Aug 22: A total of 1,718,610 Sarawakians have completed their second doses of Covid-19 vaccine as of Aug 21, 2021.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, based on the data from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) and the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), as of Sunday (Aug 22), some 89.7 per cent or 1,832,218 of the Sarawak population had received their first dose of vaccination.

It was also informed that Sarawak is the second state to record the highest cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccination in the country after Labuan.

Meanwhile, the daily report from the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (Pick) in Sarawak today, said a total of 13,253 individuals have been inoculated with their first and second doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

It involved a total of 1,904 individuals receiving their first dose, while 11,349 other individuals completed their second dose.

To date, the vaccination programme is still being carried out throughout the State and the government continues to double its efforts to curb the Covid-19 pandemic, including increasing herd immunity rates. — DayakDaily
