KUCHING, July 18: Another 17 new Covid-19 cases derived from the Sungai Setajam Cluster in Sarikei have pushed the cumulative number of infections to 94.
The cluster reported the most number of new cases today while two other active clusters, Industri 121 Kuala Baram in Miri and Sentosa 2 Cluster in Kuching, reported two new cases each.
To recap, the Sungai Setajam Cluster was identified on July 10 involving a longhouse in Sungai Setajam in Sarikei whereby 76 longhouse folks were infected with Covid-19 then.
One new case was later identified on July 15 increasing the tally of Covid-19 infection for the cluster to 77 people.
Meanwhile, Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily Covid-19 update today said no new cluster had emerged while three active clusters registered a total of 21 new cases.
On the bright side, the Jalan Usaha Jaya Cluster and the Tabuan Tranquility Cluster, both in Kuching, have ended.
With two Covid-19 clusters ended, there are a total of 90 active clusters in Sarawak while 87 active clusters report zero cases. — DayakDaily
