KUCHING, Mar 14: A teenager was injured after being hit by a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle in front of SMK Tung Hua in Sibu on Friday (Mar 13).
According to the acting Sibu police chief, Supt Boniface Bajai, a report was received at 12.50pm on the accident.
“Initial investigations revealed that the 16-year-old victim was crossing at a pedestrian crossing when the accident occurred.
“Due to the accident, the victim sustained injuries to his head and body and was brought to the hospital,” he said.
An investigation paper has been opened, and the case will be investigated under Rule 10 of LN 166/56 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
He also reminded road users to always comply with traffic regulations and exercise greater caution while on the road to avoid any unwanted incidents. — DayakDaily
