16yo boy killed after car crashes into parked lorry near SK Sedarat, Engkilili

SRI AMAN, Dec 13: A teenage boy has died after the car he was travelling in crushed into the rear of a lorry parked on the roadside for unloading building materials in front of SK Sedarat in Engkilili today.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak reported that the 16-year-old boy was pinned in the front passenger seat, while the driver had been assisted out of the car by passersby.

The driver was immediately transported to the hospital by ambulance from the Ministry of Health before the arrival of the team of firefighters from Betong Station upon receiving an emergency call at 8.35am today.


Firefighters deployed specialised tools to extract the severely injured teenage boy from the passenger seat, and the operation was completed at about 9.30am.

He was pronounced dead by the paramedics at the scene and the body was handed over to the police for further investigation and action. — DayakDaily
