KUCHING, Sept 9: The Magistrate’s Court here ordered a Form 5 student to be placed at Puncak Borneo Henry Gurney School for three years for raping his underage girlfriend.
The 16-year-old boy pleaded guilty to the charge framed under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code.
Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi ordered the sentence to take effect from today.
The accused was charged with raping his 14-year-old girlfriend in an apartment here at about 8am on February 6, 2021.
According to the brief facts of the case, the accused and the victim were in courtship since December 2020.
On February 6, both the accused and the victim were in the said apartment unit to celebrate a birthday and had sex thereafter.
The incident was discovered by a team of police from IPD Kuching when they raided the said unit at about 11pm on February 6 and found the boy and his girlfriend together in the said unit, and the accused admitted they had sex.
