KUCHING, Aug 11: Residents in 16 areas around Kuching are advised to anticipate a scheduled water supply interruption, as well as low water pressure and the possibility of discoloured water from 9pm today until 6am Saturday.
In a notice today, Kuching Water Board (KWB) stated that the interruption is a result of essential maintenance work on a 1,000mm butterfly valve located at Jalan Batu Kitang.
The localities that will be affected encompass Jalan Landeh, Mile 10, Mile 9 3/4, Jalan Pending, Pending Heights, Jalan Tun Jugah, Jalan Tun Razak, Kenyalang Park, Jalan Batu Lintang, Jalan BDC, Three Hills Park, Jalan Foochow, Jalan Sekama, Jalan Entinggan, Siburan area, Jalan Puncak Borneo as well as areas under Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB).
To mitigate the inconvenience caused by this situation, KWB has taken measures to enhance water distribution capabilities by deploying water tankers to all affected areas until stability is restored within the distribution system.
KWB deeply regrets any inconveniences this may bring about and extends its gratitude for the understanding and cooperation of all concerned consumers.
For individuals seeking further information, those affected can reach out to the KWB Call Centre at 082-222333 or send a message to 019-8866650. Alternatively, they can contact the person-in-charge Ignatious Chang at 019-8560145. — DayakDaily
