KUCHING, Sept 22: A total of 150 residents in Kampung Hilir, Sibu were left homeless after fire razed 15 houses.
According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call about the incident at 6.43pm. A team from Bomba Sibu Jaya assisted by Sungai Merah and Bomba Sibu Jaya were rushed to the location.

Based on a report from the operations commander, all 15 semi-permanent structure houses were completely destroyed by the blaze.
Firefighters managed to contain the fire at 7.57pm. No casualties were reported. — DayakDaily
