KUCHING, Jan 20: A total of 147 individuals were conferred Sarawak state honours at an official investiture ceremony held at the Dewan Santapan, Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUS) building here today (Jan 20).
According to a TVS news report, the ceremony was officiated by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, who was accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
Leading the list of recipients was Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan, who was bestowed the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Johan Bintang Kenyalang (J.B.K).
Others who received the same honour were Dr Simon Sinang Bada, Abdul Halim Abang Naili, Vijayen A/L Nagalingham, Abdul Samat Gany, Bundan Ngila and Chamles Jack.
The investiture continued with the presentation of the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (P.P.C) to eight recipients, while three individuals received the Pingat Perwira Negeri (P.P.N) Perak and one recipient was awarded the P.P.N Gangsa.
In addition, six individuals were conferred the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S), 14 received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K), 13 were awarded the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B), 12 received the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S), another 12 the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K), and 37 individuals were presented with the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T).
The ceremony concluded with the conferment of the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S) on 34 recipients.
The awards were presented in recognition of the recipients’ services and contributions across various fields towards the development and wellbeing of Sarawak. — DayakDaily
