14 new Covid-19 cases brings Sarawak’s tally to over 1,000 cases

KUCHING, Nov 11: Sarawak reported 14 new Covid-19 cases today as the cumulative number of infections in Sarawak breached the 1,000 mark.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement revealed 12 of these new cases were close contacts to previously reported positive cases.

Among the cases reported today were a seven-month-old baby and an Indonesian maid.

With this, the cumulative number of Covid-19 in Sarawak has increased to 1,011 cases.

Five new cases reported were from the Greenhill Cluster and three new cases were from the Wisma Saberkas Cluster.

SDMC added there were 20 patients who have recovered and were allowed to be discharged from hospitals.

A total of 132 active cases throughout Sarawak are currently being treated at hospital isolation wards.

From this, 111 patients are being treated at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) while 21 patients are at the Miri Hospital.

The committee disclosed there are 26 new Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases with six PUI cases awaiting laboratory test results.

A total of 88 Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) registered into hotels today to undergo quarantine.

There are presently 2,325 PUS undergoing quarantine at 29 hotels throughout the state. As of today, a total of 30,692 PUS have completed their 14-day quarantine. — DayakDaily
