14 fined for SOP violations in Kuching

KUCHING, Oct 20: Fourteen individuals in Kuching were fined RM1,000 each for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the last 24 hours.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today revealed that police issued 22 compound notices throughout Sarawak, with 14 in Kuching, seven in Miri and one in Sarikei.

The Local Government and Housing Ministry also issued 67 oral, written and seizure notices under Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) (15), Marudi District Council (10), Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) (5), Matu-Daro District Council (5), Kapit District Council (5), Miri City Council (5), Kuching South City Council (MBKS) (4), Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (2) and Sarikei District Council (1).

Compliance checks were also carried out on 1,429 premises throughout Sarawak involving 210 supermarkets, restaurants (267), factories (7), banks (107), government offices (43), hawker spots (32), markets (47), houses of worship (53), recreational areas (35), construction sites (13) and others (615). —DayakDaily
