KUCHING, Aug 17: A 13-year-old boy died in an accident involving two motorcycles along Jalan Kampung Tematu, Kuching last night.
Padawan district police chief Supt Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the accident is believed to have happened around 9pm.
He said the victim, Emanuel Encharang Edwin, from Kampung Sudat was said to be riding a motorcycle alone during the incident.
“The accident is believed to have occurred when the victim, who was going straight, suddenly made a U-turn on the road and collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
“As a result of the collision, the victim suffered serious head and body injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, the rider of another motorcycle also suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for treatment.
Further investigation of the case is still being conducted under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“The police are looking for independent witnesses who can help the investigation,” he said. — DayakDaily
