KUCHING, Sept 9: A 13-year-old boy died while his friend suffered injuries after their motorcycle crashed into a stray dog along Jalan Sri Aman-Sarikei yesterday (Sept 8).
Sri Aman District Police Chief DSP Mathew Manggie said the accident is believed to have happened around 4.20pm.
According to him, the victim was riding with his friend from Engkili towards Sri Aman.
“The victim’s friend lost control of their motorcycle after hitting a dog crossing the road.
“This caused both of them to fall and end up in the middle of the road before being hit by a lorry that was coming from behind,” he said in a statement.
He added that the victim, who suffered head injuries, was confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel from Engkelili Health Clinic.
The other victim was sent to Sri Aman Hospital for treatment. — DayakDaily
