137 Kapit students receive RM68,500 education incentive

KAPIT, June 26: A total of 137 students from Kapit have received education advancement incentives amounting to RM68,500 under Phase 1 of the programme.

Works Minister and Kapit MP Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the initiative is aimed at encouraging students from the constituency to pursue higher education and strengthen their academic prospects.

“I have always believed that education is one of the best investments for our children’s future,” he said in a post shared on his social media after officiating the presentation ceremony today.

In addition to the student incentives, Nanta also approved a total allocation of RM144,500 to 14 associations and Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) in Kapit to support community activities and local development initiatives.

He emphasised the importance of ensuring that all funds are managed transparently and in accordance with financial regulations, so that they directly benefit the people.

“I hope that the assistance provided will serve as a catalyst for greater success among students and bring lasting benefits to the community in Kapit,” he added.

Also present at the event were Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Native Law and Customs) Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat, who is also Bukit Goram assemblyman, and Kapit Division Resident Elvis Didit. — DayakDaily
