[UPDATED] 12yo boy missing since Mar 18 in Selangau, police seek public’s help

KUCHING, March 21: A 12-year-old boy has been reported missing when he didn’t come home after going out to play at Rumah Lang Nanga Meruan Dijih in Selangau.

According to a Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) report, a call was received at 8am this morning, and firefighters from the Selangau station were deployed.

“The operations commander reported that the boy, Desmond Irang Julia, went out to play by the side of the longhouse at 5pm on March 18 but failed to return home, prompting a police report to be made,” said the report.

A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been launched today.

In a statement from the Mukah District Police Headquarters (IPD), the boy was last seen wearing a pair of long grey pants, but he did not wear a shirt or footwear.

Those with information on his whereabouts are urged to immediately contact investigating officer Inspector Muhammad Nur Afiq Mohd Nur Azmi at 013-4874838, the Mukah IPD control centre at 084-871222, or to go to the nearest police station.  — DayakDaily
