KUCHING, Jan 10: A 12-year-old boy was found drowned in a small river while his twin brother survived in an incident at Kampung Gita Baru, Petra Jaya here today.
According to a Facebook livestream by Sarawak Edition, it was reported that paramedics from the Ministry of Health (MOH) made immediate efforts to revive the boy at the scene following the incident at 2.41pm.
It was understood that a local resident jumped into the river and pulled both boys out of the water. At that time, one of them were unconscious and the other was in a weak and fragile state.
Following resuscitation attempts, the initially unconscious boy regained a pulse. Both victims were rushed to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
Despite receiving further treatment, one of the boys succumbed to the incident at SGH.
Meanwhile, his twin brother is currently under medical care at the hospital.
Authorities are urging the public to respect the families’ privacy and provide them with the necessary space during this difficult time. — DayakDaily
