KUCHING, Aug 5: Several areas in Sibu will face a 12-hour water supply disruption starting 10pm tonight due to a major leak in the main pipeline in front of Ngu Chung Beng and Lorong Salim 19.
TVS reported that Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd (SWSB), in a statement today, said repair works are expected to take approximately 12 hours before supply is restored in stages.
Among the affected areas are Jalan Stabau and Jalan Kong Yit Khim up to Jalan Nibong Tada and Durin; Jalan Salim up to Jalan Pedada and Jalan Dr Wong Soon Kai; as well as Jalan Ling Kai Cheng up to the Jalan Ling Kai Cheng-Ulu Sungai Merah traffic light junction.
Other affected areas include Jalan Lada to the town centre (including nearby villages), Jalan Brooke Drive to Jalan Teng Chin Hua, Jalan Quarry to Jalan Pasai Siong, Jalan Wawasan to Bawang Assan, and Jalan Teku Lama to Jalan Ding Lik Kong.
SWSB has advised residents to store sufficient water throughout the repair period and apologised for the inconvenience caused.
“We will ensure the repair works are completed as quickly as possible, and that water supply is restored progressively,” the statement added.
