11 workers of supermarket infected with Covid-19 in new Jalan Jambusan 2 Cluster

KUCHING, July 20: A total of 11 workers of a supermarket at Jalan Jambusan in Bau have tested positive for Covid-19, triggering the Jalan Jambusan 2 Cluster.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily update on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak today, revealed that this cluster originated from the workers of a supermarket at Jalan Jambusan in Bau.

As of today, a total of 99 individuals have been screened whereby 43 have tested negative while 45 are still awaiting lab test results.

All positive cases have been admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) Kuching for isolation and treatment.

SDMC also declared the end of Kampung Kolong 2 Cluster in Kuching after no new local cases were recorded in the last 28 days.

With that, the number of active clusters in Sarawak remains at 91, out of which eight clusters recorded an increase in daily infections of 62 new cases.

They are Bedup Longgo Cluster in Serian which added 34 more cases, Sentosa 2 Cluster in Kuching (17 cases), Sungai Sengkabang Cluster in Subis (6 cases), while Tema Saan Cluster in Tebedu, Sega Cluster in Bau, Pasar Basah Mukah Cluster in Mukah, Duyoh Cluster in Bau and Jalan Selalang Cluster in Sarikei picked up one case each. — DayakDaily
