11 ventilators to be sent to Sibu, Bintulu, and Sarikei hospitals

KUCHING, April 20: The Health Ministry (MoH) will send 11 ventilators to Sarawak to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

MoH in a statement today said the 11 ventilators will be delivered to Sibu Hospital (five units), Bintulu Hospital (four units) and Sarikei Hospital (two units).

Additionally, the ministry said it will also send eight ventilators and eight Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patient monitors to Sarikei Hospital.

It disclosed that three ventilators have been tested and are being used while five units will be tested and commissioned this week.

Following complaints of ventilators not working, MoH clarified there were some ventilators which malfunctioned due to damage which occurred during the transportation process. — DayakDaily
