KUCHING, Oct 28: Sarawak reported 34 Covid-19 deaths today, with ten of the fatalities from Betong and 16 brought-in-dead (BID) cases.
According to an update on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today, the Covid-19 patients passed away between Oct 7 and Oct 28.
There were 10 Covid-19 deaths reported in Betong, followed by seven cases in Sibu, four cases each in Miri and Kuching, three cases in Bintulu and Sri Aman and one case each in Limbang, Samarahan and Sarikei.
The youngest victim reported today was a 31-year-old woman from Bintulu who had hypertension and autoimmune disease who was BID. The oldest victim was a 95-year-old woman who had hypertension and diabetes, passing away in Sibu Hospital today.
Meanwhile, three of the 16 BIDs were reported to not have comorbidities. They were a 37-year-old man from Bintulu, a 44-year-old woman who was also from Bintulu and a 73-year-old woman from Betong.
SDMC said one death was reported on Oct 7, Oct 12, Oct 14, Oct 15, Oct 19 and Oct 28 respectively.
There were two deaths on Oct 16 and Oct 22, three deaths on Oct 27, four deaths on Oct 24 and Oct 26, five deaths on Oct 21 and eight deaths on Oct 25.
The death toll due to Covid-19 in Sarawak now stands at 1,300. — DayakDaily
