KUCHING, July 9: The ‘Sunday Morning with Premier 2.0: Dialogue Session with Young Entrepreneurs on New Economy’ event, which catered to 130 young Sarawakian entrepreneurs and government officials, ended on a high note today.
Organised by DayakDaily and Pertubuhan Wartawan Bebas Kuching (Pewarta) and supported by the Sarawak government, the dialogue session offered an avenue for young, professional entrepreneurs to engage up-close and personally with the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Other than the face-to-face question and answer (Q&A) session with the Premier, ten young participants were randomly selected to lunch with Abang Johari for more interactions.
The lucky 10 were Petronas LNG Sdn Bhd Executive (Instrument) Ahmad Nor Sherfiq Sherimim, Chitose Laboratory Corp researcher Kazuki Eguchi, PwC Malaysia partner Clarence Chan, PwC Malaysia director Dennadict Chang, Shine Pharmacy Sdn Bhd director Charles Liew, Sara Grow Sdn Bhd project coordinator Syahirah Bojeng, Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) research officers Stanley Ho and Alicia Vanessa Jeffary, Whitebeard Engineering Sdn Bhd Kuching branch manager Muhammad Nazri Sulaiman, and Niu Infotech Sdn Bhd director Tham Tat Wai.
Another nine names were drawn to lunch with Sarawak Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who was one of the distinguished guests.
Other dignitaries included Sarawak Deputy Secretary (Economic and Development Planning) Datu Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, Economic Planning Unit (EPU) director Lester Matthew, and Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada.
Meanwhile, permanent secretaries from ministries, namely Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development; Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development; Public Health, Housing and Local Government; Utility and Telecommunications; International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development were also present.
Among other guests were Sarawak Energy Berhad group chief executive officer (CEO) Datu Sharbini Suhaili, Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) general manager Dato Dr Anderson Tiong Ing Heng, Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) chief executive officer (CEO) Sudarnoto Osman, Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) Energy chief executive officer Robert Hardin, Petronas scientist Colin Patrick, Sarawak Federation of Chinese Associations (SFCA) president Dato Richard Wee, Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (Sheda) Sarawak advisor Datuk William Wei, and senior lawyer Shankar Ram Asnani. — DayakDaily
